Data Interoperability

In a perfect world, as organizations grow and evolve, their automated information systems would be developed to exchange the data required to effect a seamless enterprise information flow. In the real world, organizations incorporate systems that are not designed to be compatible with each other, yet the ability to interoperate is critical to on-going operations and a fully integrated enterprise system. Complicating this process is the fact that reference data may be owned and maintained by different organizations across governmental and commercial private sectors on the Global Information Grid.

TRI-COR has worked successfully with functional experts and system developers to create an environment that allows disparate systems to recognize and share data. Critical to this success is the synchronization and distribution of data used for reference and validation to all systems that pass data to one another.

TRI-COR's method is noninvasive--it does not disrupt individual system databases. TRI-COR works with and within the enterprise to maximize system interaction by performing the following as needed:

  • Data mediation--an iterative, investigative process of finding, documenting, then validating the documentation with the authoritative source.
  • Business process engineering--to ensure data is processed in the same manner on all systems.
  • Database design and implementation.
  • Building and controlling reference tables, then, by using a proactive data management process, keeping them synchronized with the authoritative source.
  • Creating and managing interfaces between systems.
  • Periodically distributing updated reference tables.
  • TRI-COR offers customers a broad array of enterprise data support services and is proud of the dramatic contributions we have made to enhancing our customer's ability to share valuable data between vital enterprise systems.
